Built by someone who sat the exam and hated the prep.
The Cram Lab is an HB3 company — diagnostic-first exam prep for career licenses, starting with Texas Property & Casualty.
The short version
The Cram Lab exists because the standard way to study for an insurance license exam is miserable: a 500-page wall of text, no sense of what matters, and a countdown clock on your access. The person who started this company is a Texas insurance agent who sat the same exams — and came out the other side convinced there had to be a better order of operations.
That order is the whole company: measure first, study second. A 50-question diagnostic maps exactly where you'll lose points. Then a tight core of short lessons aims at those gaps until a live readiness score hits 85%. No chapter-one-for-everyone. No 500 pages. No black box.
Our bet, in one sentence: you don't have a studying problem — you have a not-knowing-what-to-study problem. Solve that first and the rest gets shorter.
What we're building right now
We're pre-launch. Launch is October 26, 2026. Until then, the product you can touch is the free interactive preview: the full diagnostic, the flashcard decks, and the full lesson library (all five modules), running right in your browser.
At launch, the full product is the diagnostic-first course: 50-question entry diagnostic, personal gap map, ~2-hour core of 5–6-minute lessons in Read and Drill (Watch and Listen planned for launch), spaced-repetition flashcards, the TX state-law track, and the live 85% readiness score.
Where the content stands
The national exam content — concepts, property forms, liability — is written and in the preview. The TX state-law lessons are drafted from TDI sources and in final expert review. Nine subject-matter flags are open against specific Texas facts (prompt-pay timelines, guaranty association limits, CE hours, UM/UIM stacking, non-subscriber duties, valued-policy scope, and a few more). A flagged fact ships only once confirmed.
We'd rather hold a lesson than teach you a wrong number. When the review closes, we'll say so here.
What we're not
- Not pre-licensing. We prepare you for the exam itself. We don't provide pre-licensing education and we don't pretend to.
- Not a pass guarantee. No prep course can honestly promise one. We promise a real baseline, honest lessons, and a score that shows its work.
- Not finished. TX is the first state track. FL, CA, and GA are under construction, added in state order by demand.
